I think everyone and every business is feeling this “down turn” we are experiencing these days. I think smaller business especially have been hit hard by the low economy. The consumer is doing a lot more shopping around and comparing before spending now then ever before. So, to be able to compete these days a company must have the means to make things as easy as possible and still offer the consumer quality and convenience it is looking for to stay alive. The last couple of years I have given both sets of grandparents Custom Calendars for Christmas. Let me tell you, that was the best idea I have ever had. They are simple and so much fun to make. I have even been taking photos of the kids all year round with putting together the calendar in mind. They are so loved and give all kinds of smiles and laughs. I fill each month with the happiest and most memorial moments I can find. So, my family really enjoys them. After years of shopping around and trying to decide what to buy for our parents, I now can just spend a few fun minutes on line and be done with it. So, not only are Custom Calendars the best Christmas gift I have ever bought but definitely the easiest. At http://www.vistaprint.com you can find not only calendars but a wide variety of products and fun ideas to give as gifts. Some thing for everyone. With all of the photos I take of our dog, I am thinking of making a fun Foxy Roxy calendar for myself this year. I for sure have to make one for my daughter and fill it with photos of our new granddaughter and pictures of all the first moments she has had over this past year.

I work in a small office. Basically, it’s a two person office and the owner spends his time in the building. It’s a third generation machine shop. Yep, they have been in business for over 65 years and for the last ten or fifteen, not much has changed. I still use a typewriter for some of my daily updating, we use a DOS system on our network and our phones are a good 12 years old, no voice mail. Some of that is about to change! We had two companies come in to quote new phones this week. The whole package, voice mail and everything! Next I hope to sway them in to being able to accept credit cards. Now that I found out how easy is it.OnlineChecks.com offers a simple and easy to follow program to for any office to use. No fees, no contracts, and a free credit card machine. I shouldn’t have a problem explaining that one to my boss. OnlineChecks.com pretty much sells it’s self. Gosh, I feel like finally, my office is getting with the times.

I can’t believe how close we are to the holidays already. I started thinking about it the other day and decided that this year I am going to be on top of things. On my game! No more last minute details. So I have been doing some on line shopping in my spear time. I’ve actually done a lot of my gift buying already. I always start with my girls. Allison has been my easy one pretty much every year. It’s Bethany that has been a little difficult. She loves the name brands! This year when I asked her she told me she is dying for one of the new Baby Phat Jackets. That so does not surprise me. She has always been a fan of Baby Phat, purses, tops, you name it. You can find it all on line at http://www.babyphat,com. Their web site is awesome and easy to use. So, it looks like Bethany wont be so difficult this year after all. I can actually say, I am done holiday shopping for my daughters already. How cool is that! It’s only September. That’s on my game.

After four years of living in our house just the way we bought it we are finally ready to make some changes. I have to start with scraping off the wallpaper that is in every single room. I have been talking about starting that project for over a year now. What finally got me motivated was picking out our paint colors and shopping around on line for new in style home decorating ideas. The colors we have chose are so nice and clean and modern. It’s going to be so much fun to decorate the walls. Mylifetime.com is one of my very favorite websites not only because I am a big fan of Lifetime TV shows but their Home & Crafts page is filled with all kinds of great ideas and tips for your home. Mylifetime.com is always up on what is in and happening when it comes to you, your entertainment and even your home.

Our last phone bill was almost double the cost as the month before. I get so frustrated when I see expensive calls being made and then no one in the house will admit to them. I have even tried calling the phone company in the past and asked them for help to identify the odd numbers before I paid my bill. But that doesn’t always work because customer service at our phone company is not what it use to be. Now I know about CallerBase.com, a company that offers help with identifying unknown number that appeared in your phone bill. the reverse phone lookup service on CallerBase.com also offers helpful services like providing the owner’s name and address for any unknown phone number. Reverse phone lookups can be used to trace harassing telemarketers, prank callers any other otherwise annoying callers. You can even lookup missed calls. Their service is not just available for your home phone but you cell phone as well. United States and Canada. All the lookups are 100% confidential. Not only will this help me pin the costly phone calls on who ever is making them in my house but this service is going to come in real handy the next time a rude unwanted telemarketer gets all mouthy and argumentative with me. I feel like I have some real ammunition now!

My parents have done a lot of nice things for me over the years. One of the best and most appreciated things was when they hired a service to help us move from our first house to our second. ABF U-Pack Moving is a “you pack, they drive” moving service that delivers a trailer or ReloCube (moving container) right to your door. It was literally door to door storage and saved us a lot of time and hard work. ABF U-Pack is less expensive than a full service mover yet are way more convenient than a rental truck. I highly recommend using U-Pack for door to door moves. They are a company you can rely on and are in great standing with the Better Business Bureau.
