We have lived construction free for about three years now.
That all changed this week.
My husband decided he is going to give us a nice finished basement for Christmas.

Yesterday I took Allison and her little girlfriend to Chuck E Cheese for lunch and a couple of hours of loud, crazy kid fun.
It was a reward for doing so well in school. I think she had a good time. And I made it out alive which is a bonus. I think my ears are still ringing but I am alive.
Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day is a day of remembrance for all babies who have died to soon, from early pregnancy loss thru infant death. It is recognized on October 15th of every year.
My daughter Allison (7) who is all about insects, reptiles and anything that is not girlie,
dressed herself this morning for school in a dress, dress shoes and a pretty headband.
She looked so sweet, I wish I had a picture to post.
My husband left about 5:00am this morning on a fishing trip and wont be back until Tuesday. I sure hope he has a good relaxing time. He really needs it.
As for us girls left behind for the weekend, I have my nephew over for the night tonight and dinner and movie plans with my daughter Bethany for Sunday evening.
Not sure how I will spend my Saturday, other then some girlie time I promised Allison. She wants to do our hair, nails and make up, should be fun.
My sister was a beautiful bride.
I am so happy for her, she means the world to me.
I decided to make a turkey breast today. I am making stuffing, yams and fresh green beans to go along with it. Our house smells so yummy right now, just like the holidays.
The idea is to have some left overs for during the week. Later tonight, I am mixing a meatloaf and maybe a dozen meat balls for the freezer. Now that Allison is back in school, my evenings can use all the help I can get.
Okay, what’s for dinner? Tonight or over the weekend?
I can’t believe in just seven short weeks I am going to be an aunt again.
Before my sister told me her news of being pregnant I thought the next chance I had of a new baby being a part of my life was going to be the day I become a (cough, choke, spit it out) a grandparent.
I am so happy to have been wrong on that.
Every time I look at the calendar, I am amazed at how fast the time is going by. Only seven short weeks. I am so excited.
Next month will be eleven years since our first date.
I think it’s love.
Tip #1- Do not for any reason throw away your child’s old lunch box with out having a new one in your hand!
Tip#2- If you don’t follow tip #1, then you better make damn sure you do not forget to purchase the new lunchbox.
And let me just tell you, if you think running a mile across a full Wal-Mart parking lot and fighting the other dead beat moms in that area of the store is going to save you on your lunch break, one day before school starts, you are sadly mistaken!
Just a couple of tips from me (a.k.a. the dead beat mom that forgot her daughter needs a lunchbox) to you.
** Evening update: One very cute Garfield lunchbox bought on Ebay. Everyone is happy.
Gerry and I drove home late last night, about 2:00am. We couldn’t have asked for a better weekend. It was a blast!
There was a lot of good food, great people and as always ton of laughs! And my gawd, a lot of drinking. A great way to spend a weekend.
It was nice to see my parents having such a good time. My running joke over the weekend was “ I can’t keep up with my retired parents” maybe when I retire I’ll be able to handle all this partying? Honestly, I hope to be half as young and happy as they are, thirty years from now, when I am in my sixty’s.
Sorry, no pictures.
