We had a yard sale today. Even though the weatherman warned us of a really hot & humid day today and a 60% chance of rain we were still all up at 5:30am, cleaning tables, carrying boxes outside and setting everything up. I can’t believe how much work goes in to having a yard sale. We really worked our rear ends off. I even had my husband stay home all day to help. The rain held out until the afternoon but we still didn’t do very well. Oh well, I guess that’s the chance you take when you book a yard sale. I am thinking we’ll just leave the stuff we have left over tagged and boxed up and maybe try again on another weekend. Hopefully we’ll have better weather and better luck.

After doing a lot of running around this morning I spent the afternoon and evening trying to get rid of a headache from hell. I tried everything, sinus pills, aspirin, ib proffin, not all at once of course but through out the day. Not really the day I had in mind for myself. I think laying on the couch with Roxy and watching the Burn Notice marathon was the most effective medicine I tried all day.
My husband took the whole day off today. His first in over a month. With Allison gone to visit my mom I decided we both really needed a lazy day of laying around the house and watching movies. So far we have watched Untraceable and Vantage Point. Untraceable was better then I expected. I was a little worried it was going to be too graphic for me. I had my hound on my lap and my blanket ready but hardly had to cover my eyes. I thought it was a pretty good movie. Defiantly worth renting. I didn’t see much of Vantage Point, by then Roxy and I both were laying back in the lazyboy chair and struggling to stay awake and slept through most of it but Gerry said he thought it was pretty good. In a little while I am going to order us a pizza and we’re watching Hero Wanted, the previews look kind of cheesy but we’re both big fans of Ray Liotta and plan to give it a shot. This day has been so nice and way over due.
I feel like I could sleep all day today but I can’t, I have way too much to do. In fact, I need to get myself in gear and get in the shower. I need to be out of the house in just over an hour to pick up my daughter Bethany, go to the credit union, stop and pay our car insurance, run to Target, to Kmart, stop and buy Bethany lunch for her birthday, come back home and have all three of us ready for a graduation party around 4:00pm. Nope, there is no going back to bed for me this morning!
It’s been hot and sticky all day. I just drove through a nasty rain storm on my way home from work. I hope that brings the temp down a bit. I think we were robbed of a spring season, and just jumped in to summer this year. It makes the heat a little bit harder to get use to. I guess I shouldn’t complain, it’s a whole heck of a lot better then snow and ice.
Our shop is closed next week for our annual shut down. Yes being automotive can some times be very cool. Except this year the orders have been coming in so slow my boss needs me to be here three of those days to answer the phone and do some quoting so we don’t miss too much in coming work. I really don’t mind this time because I can’t afford to go with out a paycheck next week. Also, it still gives me a four day weekend to enjoy the 4th of July.
It’s just after 7:00pm and I am in bed already. I came home from work and went right in to the tub and soaked in a hot bath. Now I am in bed, with my lap top and a warm bowl of buttered pasta with lots of pepper. Fettuccine is my cure all when I am not feeling well. I am about to pop some cold meds and pray for sleep. Maybe when I wake up tomorrow I will feel back to normal and this cold will go away as fast as it came on.
I think I may have found my part time evening job. I filled out an application last night at a local video store. At first it was strange that the girl who is the assistant manager and younger than my daughter was the one asking me all kinds of questions but she seemed nice and sounded like they will be calling me back to talk to the owner on Monday evening. We’ll see. It does sound better then being in a 100 degree pizza shop with a bunch of teen age boys. I talked to a woman my age that is currently working there part time and she says she loves it. Told me they give really good perks if you like movies. I love movies, so maybe it will be fun?
