Yesterday my grandmother had a heart attack, while she was walking the halls of her apartment building undressed. A lady that works in the building found her about 6:30am and call 911. Thankfully it was a minor heart attack but over the past few months her health has been going down hill real fast. When she leaves the hospital she’ll be moving in to a nursing home where she can get the care and looking after she needs for now on.
It’s such a sad part of life. I know every one says this but I really do not understand why getting old has to be so cruel and unfair. When you work all your life, raise you family and have already lost your husband, it should be a time to sit back, relax and laugh.
Well, if I had my way it would be.

I know this has been making the rounds but I had to post it.
I still laugh every time.

After a busy day and late night yesterday, I don’t plan on doing much today. I am showered and in my Sunday uniform, a.k.a. T-shirt and pajama bottoms.
Yesterday I spent most of the day cleaning the house and making a lasagna before my sister and her husband came over.
It was so nice to have them here. After dinner while the guys had a couple of beers and focused on our PS3, my sister and I enjoyed a couple of Cosmopolitans and chatted up a storm. It was good time that lasted past 11:00pm.
Maybe it was the Cosmopolitans but after they left I ended up popping in the third season of Sex & The City.
I was sitting up in my bed, with a face full of tears as Aidan broke up with Carrie on Charlotte’s wedding day when I realized it was after 1:00am. That’s thing about TV on DVD, it’s so easy for me to keep saying “just one more episode” and then wow look what time it is, I need to sleep. I just can’t hang like I use to.
Today is going to be nice and quiet.
This movie was even more fun then I expected. Samuel L. Jackson is the man.
If you rent the DVD make sure you take the time after the movie to watch the gag reel and the Snakes on A Blog selections.
I really wish we would have seen this one in the theater. I bet it was a blast on the big screen.
First, yesterday Hallary Rodham Clinton’s swearing in broke ground as the largest number of women we’ve ever had in the Congress.
Today, Rep. Nancy Pelosi became the first woman speaker of the House of Representatives.
What an inspiration these women are.
To be able to tell our daughters that with enough hard work, they to can grow up to be what ever they want to be and mean it.
Santa was good to me. This is the best calendar, a new Basset Hound photo for everyday of the year. Only they are so darn cute that I can’t see myself throwing them away everyday.
365 calendar pages are sure going to add up. My desk is going to be covered in Bassets, inside and out in no time.
I took my daughter to her first real OB appointment last week and we came home with pictures already. She is 3 monthes along and the baby was moving around like crazy. It looked like a shrimp. Our doctor said everything seems good and healthy so far.
I have to admit, seeing the little shrimp moving around and seeing and hearing the heart beat was a bit overwhelming for me.
I am just still getting over all the shock. But I am beginning to come around. I have to. My daughter and I are very close and she is soooo not ready for any of this.
I still can’t believe I am going to be a grandmother at 37!
My house smells so good right now.
I kicked off the new year by making a big turkey dinner with all the fixings and with a little help from Sara Lee I even baked a dutch apple pie.
If I was going to invent a candle scent, this would be it. A turkey with all the fixings candle. What do ya think? I think it would sell. Okay, whos got the funding?
