You Are a Mai Tai |
![]() You aren’t a big drinker, but you’ll drink if the atmosphere is festive. And when you’re drunk, watch out! You’re easily carried away. |
Yep, sounds like me.
If you have ever wondered what happens when a 12pk of Dt. Coke sits in a car for 8 or 9 hours in 93 degree weather, then gets put in the front passenger seat and hit with icy cold AC air, I can tell you it takes about five minutes and then makes quite the loud bang and a huge mess. In case I am not being clear, it was HUGE, covered the inside of my windshield and the ruff of my car kind of mess. Of course the cans that all burst at the exact same time had to be pointing in my direction, so I wasn’t looking too pretty either.
After about a minute of complete shock over what just happened, I heard Allison’s little voice from the back seat ask me, this is funny right mom? All I could do as I drove the rest of the way to my dad’s house covered in pop and listening to the inside of car still fizzing was to laugh and answer yes Honey, right now this is funny, it wont be funny when we get home and have to clean it, but right now we can laugh. And then we couldn’t stop laughing, belly hard laughs. I can only imagine, to other drivers on the road we had to be a sight to see.
Eight years ago this week, my husband became a father.
And just as I suspected back then, he is amazing at it !
Happy Father’s Day!
Went out last night with Bethany, my sister and mom to see Knocked Up and get a bite to eat. Even though the movie felt a bit too long at times and the humor a bit too graphic for the story line, I think we all three agreed it was cute. Speaking of cute, I can’t help but to adore Paul Rudd. As always he was very good.
Then I finished off my late night by meeting my handsome husband for his dinner and a couple of drinks. Some thing we have been doing pretty much every Friday night since he has been on afternoons. I love our Friday nights together, it’s so nice to get out of the house and be able talk alone for a while. And there is something about meeting so late at night that just adds to the fun.
The shower -
Besides a few complaints with the restaurant management, like not telling me that I needed to bring my own cake plates and them really over booking the place, every thing went very well. It was just so nice that so many people (55) took the time out of their weekend to come and celebrate with us. I know my daughter felt a bit over whelmed, I caught her tearing up more then once. We are so very blessed with wonderful family and friends in our life.
Appointment-
Every thing looks real good and still no boy parts were spotted. So that’s a relief. I know there is only like a 1 or 2% of the baby coming out a boy but you know, some one has to be that percent, even it is a small. I am glad we don’t have much longer to wait, I really want to meet this little girl already.
Allison-
I can not believe my little girl is done with second grade already. Over the past couple of days we have changed her name from Allison to “The third grader” when referring to her. Time is going going by way too fast.
Her dad and decided to sign her back up for horse back riding now that she is a little bit older. She starts July 11Th and is counting down the days.
The starter Wife -
Very disappointing! I had such high hopes for it but I am just not digging it.
But what I am digging is Army Wives, on Lifetime. Two episodes in and really liking it.
I am taking Bethany to her doctors appointment this evening that includes another ultra sound.
Now that we have a house full of pink baby items, I am praying it’s still a girl.
I posted some baby shower pics on Flickr.
I think I need a nice bottle of wine, a warm bath and about twenty hours of sleep to recoup from this weekend.
This weekend is all about the baby, my granddaughter and getting ready for her.
Yesterday, was our birthing class where I played the role of “father” and some times “coach”. Nine cute lovey dovey couples and us. I tried to do everything the other dad’s were doing like rubbing her lower back and squeezing her hand from time to time.
The class was from 8:00am to 4:30pm, it was a long day but well worth it. Even after having two kids already I learned a few new things and I know it was very good for my daughter. You should have seen her face during the birthing video. Wow.
We also went on a tour of the delivery rooms and nursery. The rooms are beautiful and they have everything we could need. Amazing how things have changed over twenty years. Even over eight years things have really improved.
We left with all of her questions answered and feeling really good about things. I am so glad I signed us up.
Today, the baby shower!
My husbands truck was broken into late last night. Who ever did it must have felt like they hit the jackpot. Because he has been working around the clock on side jobs and had a backseat full of tools. About $3000.00 worth! This really pisses me off! Even if the insurance company pays our claim there are some things that can’t be replaced. Like a nice wrench set that was given to you by your brother not long before he passed away. Now gone.
How do people do these things and still sleep at night? For all they know my husband uses those tools to support his family. We are for sure going to feel it if he can’t finish his side jobs with out replacing them.
