After feeling a bit stressed out and a little down the last few days I decided yesterday to take the evening and spend it out of the house. So I went shopping after work. Even though my ass went up a good size I still came home with three cute new tops and a new pair of carpi’s.Ya know, in the past going up in size would make me feel really bad about my self and I would have left the store empty handed. But not this time, I think I have hit a point in my life where I can say, screw it, I am who I am, live with it and it feels pretty good.
Then I took my chubby self to the show and caught the 7:00 pm showing of Hairspray. I am so glad I did!  Being a fan of the original, I thought this version was fantastic, no better then fantastic, it was negro-tastic! He he, if you saw the movie, you got that, I hope.
I really enjoyed every minute of this movie. Although there is no comparison to the great late Divine, I thought John Travolta was brilliant. In fact the entire cast did a wonderful job.
If you haven’t seen it yet, keep your eyes open for a quick cameo from John Waters and one from Riki Lake, both well done.

When mom has a bad enough day, we all get ice cream before dinner.
I really wanted a strong cocktail but worry about Allison seeing me drink. So ice cream it was.

I was thinking of taking Allison out and about this afternoon for some back to school supplies but it’s so rainy and gloomy today I think we are just going to stay in with dad and snuggle on the couch. The perfect Sunday for watching movies and maybe doing some arts and crafts. I even have a big pork roast ready to pop in the oven soon. Some times these kind of Sundays are the best.

Just in case you forgot what she looks like.

Allison and one of her little friends are playing dress up right now. They both have on Halloween costumes, a witch and a dragon and are creeping around the house. I can hear every word as they walk all hunch backed near the kitchen,

Allison: we are going to make dinner, but first we have to hunt it, then kill it, really kill it dead, we are going to have basset hound tonight, oh yes yummy basset hound, just look at her sweet eyes, she has no idea we are about to cook her. Yummy basset hound.

Her little friend is just saying, yeah, yeah, that sounds good, yeah.

Just now I over heard Allison tell her friend “NO not my horse, I could never hurt a horse, I love them too much”

And that’s where I step in,
Me: Now wait a minute, just so I understand, you will pretend to kill and eat our family dog but not your stuffed horse?
Allison: Mooooom, you don’t get it!
Me: yeah, I get it, you twisted little kids need to get your butts out side to play before I put you both to work or to bed nice and early.

but it’s pretty fuckin’ good.

LOVE it ! I have been watching it from the beginning and wasn’t so sure at first but by episode three I was hooked. I really look forward to watching it every week. By far my summer favorite this year.
