Well we are home and back to work. They weekend was quit the adventure to say the least.
It started about two hours after hitting the road Friday night. Just after 1:00am in the morning we blew a tire on the free way. Thank God for cell phones! And AAA insurance! Because the trailer is so long, 36 feet, no one had a flat bed big enough to tow us. So we rolled doing five miles an hour in the dark to the next exit and into a tire store parking lot. It took about 30 minutes to unhook and drop the trailer and then about 2:30 am we ate dinner at a very interesting 24 hour diner before getting three hours of sleep at an an even more interesting motel. But really, as long as no one was hurt, we made the best of it and even had a few laughs.
I think it was 10:30 am Saturday and we were back on the road. Arrived at the campgrounds about 3:00 and started scrubbing and prepping. There turned out to be more working needed then we thought so we have plans to go back up in two weeks to finish. We’re just happy to have the trailer up there where we plan on leaving it and next year enjoy it.
In just a few hours Gerry and I will be headed up north for the last time this year. Only this time we will be pulling our own trailer. How cool is that?!
It wont be all R & R for us this trip. We have hours of cleaning and prepping of the trailer to do for storage before heading back.
But don’t go feeling sorry for us, I am sure we will manage to fit in something fun while we are all the way up there, five hours from home and any problems, and all alone.
I had the best dinner and shopping date last night with Allison. First we spent a good hour or more in Barnes & Noble book shopping. It’s a miracle I left with out spending a fortune, there were so many books I wanted. But I was strong and we left with only one book, one magazine and one stuffed bunny puppet.
Then we had a nice dinner just the two of us at Ruby Tuesday’s, Allison’s pick. She was so much fun to spend time with. We sat back in our booth and she just talked and talked, telling me all about her teacher, her friends at school and all about her big plans for her Webkinz online.
We even had time to take Roxy for a fast walk before bed time. It was a great night, lots of girl talk and giggling. I am so lucky to have such a sweet and fun daughter.
Oh my gosh, Friday is this really you????
I have been waiting for you, for what, six days now?
It’s about flippin’ time you got here!

When the media started all this hype between Fifty & Kanye I was ready to stick by my man Fifty. Not just because I like Fifty and his music but also because I really can’t stand Kanye West. I have seen him in a few interviews and have always felt he came off as a whinny, spoiled, prejudice, jack ass. BUT now that the CD’s are out and I have been spinning them both, I have to say when it comes to the music, Kanye is by far the winner. As much as I did NOT want to say that, I have to be honest, Kanye does bring it ! I still don’t care to hear the man speak, but damn is this new CD the shit !
Here are two tracks,
Right click and save them while you can, they wont be up for long!
Rebecca and her Mommy.
