At what age did you have “the talk” with your kids? Did you buy a book, or did you just wing it? And how did you know it was time?

I am thinking it is time to talk to Allison. I know she is only eight but I noticed a change in her breast size and moods over the last few months and now I think I saw pubic hair when she stepped out of the shower, (oh my god, did I just type that out loud?)
I have to be honest I am little freaked out by all of this. She is only eight! I don’t want to rush things or say something wrong but I also don’t want her freaked out by own body and not understand what is happening. I am not ready for any of this.

Only 52 more days !

I know it was only a four day work week but I am sooo glad today is Friday.
I have been having a hard time sleeping over the past few nights and a real hard time getting up for work. Last night Roxy woke me up by barking to go out side at about 1:00am and then wanted to play around instead of sleeping. I bet I didn’t fall back alseep for over an hour.  When my alarm went off at 5:30am I felt like I just blinked.
Anyway, thank God it’s Friday.

2 ripe but firm bananas
6 ounces dark chocolate, chopped, or semisweet chocolate chips
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1/2 cup granola, chopped pecans and walnuts, or sprinkles (optional)

More Wordless Wednesday

I have about half of my Labor Day weekend photos posted on Flickr. Man did we need that little vacation. My husband has been so over worked the past month I was starting to worry about him having a heart attack if he didn’t slow it down some. Of course he has already jumped right back in to it all. The past two days of being home he has been in morning meetings, working an eight hour shift and then helping my sister with her house at night. Doing the math, that leaves about three to four hours of sleep in between and he has no signs of slowing down for at least another week or two, I don’t know how he does it.

My beautiful niece just took her first real steps all on her own.

Rolled in the drive way last night at 12:30am from our trip up north and had to be in the office by 8:00am.
I am so tried! It was worth every bit of it though, we had a great three days and I have a lot of pictures to prove it.
After work today I need to pick up our daughter, take her to get her hair cut, and then home to get all of her back to school supplies ready because tomorrow is the big day. Maybe after all of that and unpacking and washing our up north laundry, I will have time to post some pics?
