Well the men are on the road. I was up early this morning to drop Gerry off with my dad. It was kind of nice though, seeing my two favorite men so happy as they head out together to fish, fish and more fish for the next few days.

Gerry leaves the house tomorrow morning at 6:00am for a fishing trip he takes every year with my dad and five other men. They drive all the way to Canada to eat, sleep and fish for four days. Rain or shine! I can’t even imagine the appeal of this. But he loves it and looks forward to it every year. With him starting a new job this year he wasn’t so sure he would be able to go. I am so glad it all worked out. Good luck Honey, and catch em big!

Tonight Allison and I sat upstairs on my bed for about an hour and started reading THE book, The Care & Keeping of You: The Body Book for Girls . It seems to be a good book and going very well so far. The book is nice easy reading so little girls can help read it. I think this has been good for Allison because she has been reading with pride and a smile on her face. So far, we have read about taking care of your hair, skin and teeth in the first half. We covered under arms and then decided to stop for the night after breast size and bra shopping. Okay, I decided to stop there and drag my feet a little at what topics are coming in the second half. I can’t help it, my stomach has butterflies just thinking about it. I can tell myself this is all natural and such an important education and it’s much better coming from her mother then a teacher or God forbid one of her little friends but man it’s not all easy.

I hope you can still read me behind the extra ads I have been posting. Thank you for not ditching me off your blogroll !

You see there is a method to all of this madness. I am trying to raise enough money to give Allison a nice new bedroom set for Christmas this year. The only way I can think of raising that money and not trying to pull it out of our budget is with Ebay and posting a few more ads here on my blog. So I really hope they are not annoying to you “the reader”. I am trying to stay pretty picky about what ads I post and I promise I don’t lie or make up and stories to get them out. My blog and my readers are far more important to me then that. 

I think my eight year old daughter is addicted to the computer. She is on Webkinz, Club Penguin or Neopets every day and I am having a hard time getting her to log off.
Webkinz, is by far her favorite web site and if she is not on it, she is talking about it.
She just told me this evening that she neeeeds her own laptop for Christmas. But I am thinking maybe for her ninth birthday in June might be more like it, maybe.

Well we are home and back to work. They weekend was quit the adventure to say the least.
It started about two hours after hitting the road Friday night. Just after 1:00am in the morning we blew a tire on the free way. Thank God for cell phones! And AAA insurance! Because the trailer is so long, 36 feet, no one had a flat bed big enough to tow us. So we rolled doing five miles an hour in the dark to the next exit and into a tire store parking lot. It took about 30 minutes to unhook and drop the trailer and then about 2:30 am we ate dinner at a very interesting 24 hour diner before getting three hours of sleep at an an even more interesting motel. But really, as long as no one was hurt, we made the best of it and even had a few laughs.
I think it was 10:30 am Saturday and we were back on the road. Arrived at the campgrounds about 3:00 and started scrubbing and prepping. There turned out to be more working needed then we thought so we have plans to go back up in two weeks to finish. We’re just happy to have the trailer up there where we plan on leaving it and next year enjoy it.
