Gerry, Allison and I went to my sister’s house last night for pizza and to hang out. I think it’s kinda funny how “tech” we have become. We walked out the door with my husband toting his PS3 and a few games, I had my laptop and I took along a bottle of Bahama momma, and Allison had her bag full of Webkinz.
We paired up after dinner, the kids in the basement with their Webkinz, my sister and I in the kitchen with a few drinks and surfing Ebay and the men in the living room gaming. There was a lot of laughing going on in every room. It was a good time. I love it that my sister bought a house less then two miles away from ours. It’s been great being able to spend all this time together.

Soap Net is showing the first season of October Road today starting at noon. I already have my DVR set because I have plans to leave this afternoon. There was a lot I missed of the first season but what I saw I really liked so this is perfect timing before the new season starts on Monday night.
I have been glued to Ebay the last few days. The thing with Ebay is that once I start buying or even selling, I want to just keep doing it. I swear it’s like an addiction. This time I have been Christmas shopping and and shopping for Allison’s new bedroom. I found a few really good “buy it now” deals already this morning. At this rate I’ll be done Christmas shopping before the weekend is up.
We saw an Art Van commercial last night advertising half off all queen and king size mattresses. Because we just purchased a king set less then a week ago I called our sales lady today all prepared to fight a good fight to credit our account to match the sale. She was really cool and told me she already had us covered and took a $1000.00 off our bill yesterday. Yay!
It’s nice to know she had our back, even before I called. That’s not always the case when it comes to saving money.
Evan Almighty,
Allison and I just watched this while eating lunch and both really liked it. It’s a great movie for the whole family and so worth the cost of renting it. Of course if you read my blog regularly then you already know how much I LOVE Steve Carell.
Make sure you stick it out and watch the credits, my daughter and I haven’t laughed that hard at the same thing in a while.
Fracture,
Gerry and I stumbled on this movie when looking for some thing to watch late Wednesday night. It was much better then I expected. Definitely worth renting.
My “me day” is going pretty good so far. I was up early to shop on line and see Gerry off to work and since then I have napped on the couch and watched three or four T.V. shows I had saved on my DVR. I am about to go out in my PJ’s and drop off a bank deposit through the drive through and maybe pick up some lunch. When I get back I am checking out the new releases on Payperview, maybe I can find a good movie to watch before my time is up.
I almost did it ! Every year I say I am NOT doing the crazy early am shopping and most years I find one or two deals I just can’t pass up and I drag my self out of bed and in to the crowd before the sun comes up. This year is no different. Up until today I was not planning on going but then I saw a Kohl’s ad with 60% off of three or more of the items on my gift list.
Then I decided to check on line and YEP I found those same items that say they will be available at 60% off on line starting at 4:00am. So while all the other crazy people are out in the cold and standing in the long lines, I will be right here shopping in my PJ’s in my nice warm and quiet dinning room. Hopefully getting the same deals before they are gone!
Wishing everyone a safe and very Happy Thanksgiving !
Only a couple of hours in to the holiday and I feel ill from over eating already! I was up early this morning making a batch of Cinnamon rolls before the parade started and they make the whole house smell so good and I am just way too weak. Allison is still in bed waving and yelling at the T.V. as all the floats go by. She’s getting louder and louder as the sugar runs through her veins. Ha, ha, tis the season, right?
It’s such a different and much more relaxed morning knowing that we are going to my mom’s house for dinner. Most of the holidays Gerry and I have been together I have been up at the crack of dawn working in the kitchen. Don’t get me wrong I love doing it, I just don’t enjoy doing it every year. We are splitting up the holidays this year the same as last year, between my mom’s house and my dad’s house. It’s been a nice break but maybe I’ll go back to cooking at home next year. We’ll see.
T.G.I.W. is even better then T.G.I.F. because it means the weekend starts NOW, even if it is Wednesday. I mean who doesn’t like a four day weekend, right?
My husband and I have big plans on getting drunk tonight in kind of a celebration of getting ourselves back in to debt. More like a freaking out drinking then a celebration. But hey we’ll all be sleeping in style soon. I still can’t believe we bought a set for us too!
The furniture is being delivered on Dec 8 Th, plenty of time to get both rooms ready and remove the old furniture. Oh, I am so excited!
We just walked in from shopping the big Art Van Pre-Thanksgiving two day sale. We ended up spending a lot more then I made on Payper Post. We bought Allison a much nicer and better made bedroom set and even upgraded her to a full size bed. This set should last her a lot of years. I was really surprised at the set I had picked out on line and how young and cheap it looked when we got there. Almost like toddler furniture. Then we wondered over to the bedroom sets for us and ended up picking one out. I’ve never had a nice bedroom set, only hand me downs. I LOVE the set we agreed on, just love it. Together it was a lot more then we probaly should have spent but we did it. Now I just have to keep up with Payper Post and help my husband pay it all off.
With no money down, no interest for five years and they pay the sales tax we got a very good deal. But it is still a heck of a lot of money. I’ll have to post before and after photos of both rooms as soon as it’s all delivered. I am so excited!
This gave me a smile this morning. I have an iDrink widget on my homepage and todays drink is The Abe Froman.
The Abe Froman;
Ingredients to use:
3.0 oz. Grenadine
9.0 oz. Lemonade
3.0 oz. Vodka
Directions:Add vodka to rack glass. Then add desired lemonade.
Top off with grenadine syrup for red appearance and berry flavor. Enjoy!
Sounds yummy but any one who was a teenager in the 80’s knows why this one made me smile, right?
I did it ! This morning I hit my goal of $1100.00 dollars using Pay Per Post to purchase new bedroom furniture for my daughter and I did it just in time for Christmas.I feel like crying, it was so hard not to touch any of the money as it sat in my PayPal account over the last few months. I had to keep reminding my self how much I want to give my daughter a beautiful bedroom. And I did it !
