I just bought tickets to take my sister out for her birthday. The tickets are to see a singer we both really like and I am planning a nice dinner before the show. Just like a real date. It’s not until February but I am really looking forward to it. It’s been along time since we had a nice sister night out on the town.

What a full day ! We had two family parties today. First a birthday party for my aunt, whom I adore and then we went straight to my step dad’s retirement party. Both were a good time and filled with food and yummy cake. I of course had my share of cake at both parties. I mean you can’t attend a party and not have cake, right? They were both very good. Now if my sugar buzz ever wears off I need to get some sleep. I can’t believe tomorrow is Monday already.

Gerry and I took Allison and our nephew to see Walking With Dinosaurs.

It was amazing! Our seats were really good and the kids were both so in to it that at times I found myself watching them more that I did the dinosaurs. The look on their faces during the show made it worth every penny and then some. I am so glad we went.

Of course stupid me, I walked out the door with out my camera, so I have no photos share. that’s so not like me.

The parade last night was awesome. I am so proud of all 25 of our little Brownies. They did great out in the cold for hours, walking, waving, smiling and throwing candy. If you ask me I’d say they ROCKED the Light Up The Night parade this year.
It was a good time. My husband, my nephew and parents were there on the side to wave as we went by. Allison was so proud. I am starting to think signing her up for Brownies is one of the best things I ever did.

I think I use that same title every Friday morning. Maybe I should think about making it it’s own catergory or some thing. I guess I just can’t help myself, I love Fridays. Today I am alone in the office and it’s nice and quiet. Some times a quiet work day to catch up on some paper work, filing and surf the web is really nice. I know I am not complaining today.

This evening Allison and I are walking with her Brownie troop in a small “light up the night” parade down our city’s Partk Avenue.  My husband, nephew and few other family members are going to be standing on the side lines to wave as we go by. She is so excited about it. Should be a good time.

Then following the parade it’s T.G.I.F. drinks with my sister ! Some thing I have been looking forward to all week.Yay! Have I said how much I love Fridays?

The Air I Breathe

Pride and Glory

These previews look pretty good. Some thing my husband and I might both enjoy seeing on the big screen.
Some times I just can’t believe how much I love to go to the movies! After all of these years, toss in a nice dinner out and it’s still my favorite date night out with my husband. I am sure glad he feels the same way. Well, as long as the movie has guns, bombs or some kind of action in it he feels the same way. Once ina while he will enjoy a good crama but it has to be a really good story with good actors in it, a real suck you in type of drama.

A few people have asked me for the “Better Than Sex Cake” recipe so I thought I would just post it here.
Looking it up I found it is made a few different ways but this is how my step mom has always made it for me and it is to die for.

BETTER THAN SEX CAKE

1 cup flour
One-half cup softened margarine
1 cup chopped pecans
1 cup powdered sugar
6 ounces of instant chocolate pudding
3 cups milk
1- 8 ounce Cool Whip (thawed)
1 - 8-ounce cream cheese
6 ounce vanilla pudding
1 large Hershey chocolate bar
1- 8 ounce Cool Whip (thawed)

Mix flour, oleo and pecans; press into a 9 inch X 13 inch pan. Bake 15 minutes and COOL. In large bowl mix cream cheese and powdered sugar until fluffy, fold in 8 ounce Cool Whip. Spread this over cooked crust. Combine pudding mixes and 3 cups milk, beat well until thickened., spread over cheese layer. Spread last 8 ounce Cool Whip over pudding layer. Chill several hours and garnish with shaved chocolate. Cut into squares to serve.

I am in such a good mood today. Maybe it’s the new hair, or how relaxed I feel after my massage last night ? Or maybe it’s because in less then two hours I’ll be on my way home to have dinner with family, husband included. Maybe it’s because Thursday is my favorite T.V. night and I know I am going to end my evening with 90 minutes of laughing?
Or maybe it’s because I know tomorrow is Friday and I have plans to end my work week with a few T.G.I.F. drinks with my sister and that’s always a good time! No maybe’s about that one!
