When my daughter and Rebecca were here on Sunday I brought out my baby blanket. My mother made it for me when I was little out of my baby clothes and sundresses. It’s a beautiful pink blanket with quilt like patches of clothing sewn together in the shape of flowers with a lace trim. My initials have always been in one corner and in the late eighties a few pieces of Bethany’s clothes and her initials were added as well. Then a decade later, along came Allison and my mother patched a weak spot in the blanket with some thing of hers and added her initials. Pretty soon Rebecca’s initials will own the forth corner and while I had it out, I found a small tear in the center of the blanket. I am thinking we’ll have to patch it up with a piece of Rebecca’s pretty pink dress.

Tonight was Allison introduction ceremony into Brownies. It was so sweet. The girls all worked really hard to learn their promise and pledges. There was a flag display and refreshments after wards. Then we took out Brownie out for a late dinner to her favorite place. The Crazy Parrot, a small local bar and grill where she loves to play the jukebox.
I have a ton of photos to post but I am far too tried to get to them tonight. Also it’ll give me some thing to do while I am getting new tires put on my car tomorrow. I was told on the phone I’ll have at least a forty five minute wait. That’s along time to sit in a tire shop. Thank goodness for my laptop.

Today was a full day. A good one but very full. It started about 5:00 am when Roxy woke me up to go outside then by 7:00 am I was feeding my granddaughter her morning bottle. By 11:30 am my husband had all of our screens and storm windows out side to be power washed. I spent a good hour or more cleaning our bedroom, including the dressers. Did a couple loads of laundry and then helped my husband dry off the windows and carry them back in to the house before I made dinner.
In between things my granddaughter had a really hard day. We think she might be cutting teeth. There was a lot of loud crying going on. I felt sad to see her go home this evening. Even more so then normal knowing she is hurting, no one can rock her and sooth her like grandma can. Well, maybe that’s not entirely true but I’d like to think so.

Now at almost 8:30pm the house is all quiet, other then the sounds of football on the T.V and I can’t believe how fast my four day weekend has gone by. I am about to take a long warm bath and then enjoy a slice of left over pecan pie before I fall asleep. That morning alarm clock will yelling at me before I know it.

Gerry, Allison and I went to my sister’s house last night for pizza and to hang out. I think it’s kinda funny how “tech” we have become. We walked out the door with my husband toting his PS3 and a few games, I had my laptop and I took along a bottle of Bahama momma, and Allison had her bag full of Webkinz.
We paired up after dinner, the kids in the basement with their Webkinz, my sister and I in the kitchen with a few drinks and surfing Ebay and the men in the living room gaming. There was a lot of laughing going on in every room. It was a good time. I love it that my sister bought a house less then two miles away from ours. It’s been great being able to spend all this time together.

We have been talking about replacing the kids computer that is in our basement for some time now. It’s over six years old and starting to really slow down. It’s also an older version of Windows so some of the games on Allison’s Christmas list wouldn’t even be compatible. We really don’t have much in our budget right now to spend so I have been searching on line for discount computers for about a week now.
So far TechBargains.com is the place to go. They have a very easy-to-use website with seamless navigation and search tab on every page, so I didn’t end up wasting my time go back and forth searching for information.  I made sure I signed up for their bargain news and exclusive deals and newsletters which consolidate the best deals of the week. I also thought it was pretty cool that they not only offer coupons and rebates but you can sign up for deal alerts that customized to fit a user’s interests, like for me that would be bargain, low cost computers with out too many bells and whistles. I just need some thing pretty basic that will support all of Allison’s games and be fast enough for Bethany to surf the web and chat with friends.
TechBargains.com even offers Mobile Web pages and mobile RSS feeds, allowing users to access the best tech deals from their wireless devices updated content 24/7, even on weekends and holidays,. That lets me compare prices while I am out shopping. So far I haven’t found a better a deal any where.
