I am not that much of a sports fan but if I had to pick a favorite sport I would have to say it is boxing. I have been hooked on watching boxing since the late eighties. Back in the day we would have a house full to help split the cost of renting a pay per view. It is always so much fun.
May 8, 2004 Manny Pacquiao and Juan Manhuel Marquez had a very interesting match. Pacquiao knocked Marquez down three times in the first round, but Marquez weathered the storm and fought back effectively enough to earn a split draw. It was pretty exciting. Yet seemed unfair and so worthy of a rematch. Since then, Pacquiao has gone 7-1 with wins over Morales (twice) and Barrera. Now, four years later the wait is over, Pacquiao vs Marquez are scheduled for a rematch. The fight will take place on March 15, 2008 at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, Nevada airing on HBO pay-per-view. If Pacquiao wins, he will likely move up to lightweight for a July meeting with WBA champ David Diaz, who will defend his title on the Pacquaio-Marquez undercard. There is also speculation that if Pacquiao gets by both Marquez and Diaz - talk about looking ahead - he could face Oscar De La Hoya in September in what would be billed as the Golden Boy’s career finale. Now that is excitement ! I know my husband and I will be having a house full and a blast watching that. I would love to actually purchase tickets and make a birthday present trip out of it for my husband. But like I just said - talk about looking ahead -I guess we’ll have to watch Pacquiao vs Marquez II first and take one fight at time. Shoot, I’d love to have Pacquiao vs Marquez tickets, that’s where all the excitment is starting .  One of these days we’ll really be there.

It took until after 1:00 am but all of our gifts are wrapped and ready to be placed under our tree tonight. There was no wine drinking this year so I am fairly certain all the names on them are spelled correctly, unlike last year.

Today is going to be very busy but fun. My Uncle is hosting a family Christmas party this afternoon and then in the evening we are going to an open house with some of our neighbors. Both should be fun. I am hoping to come home tonight, put Allison to bed and snuggle up with my husband and a good movie while we wait for Santa to show up.

I have been up since 7:30 am and ready to start my busy day. Today is the day I do all the hard work. I plan to clean every room in the house, finish all the laundry and even wash the floors. I love an extra clean house for the holidays. It just feels so nice.
Then this evening I am making a nice stuffed turkey breast dinner and enjoying my family. My daughter and granddaughter will be here and we are having my nephew over for the night. Yep, that’s a full house and I love it.  After dinner when every one else is settled in, with movies or video games I will be up stairs for a couple of hours wrapping all of our Christmas gifts and singing alone to the likes of Led Zeppelin. Add a few cookies and a good glass of wine or two and it’s been kind of my own little tradition the past few years. I have even made the mistake in the past on this night to drunk ‘ n dial and email my family members like my step mom and sister. It’s kind of like opening day, it all starts today with the hard work and the Led Zeppelin and the celebration doesn’t end for another two days.

Damn, and I liked that show. No, it wasn’t the best hour of televison but it sure wasn’t the worst. I thought it was a lot of fun and I really enjoyed the cast.

I have done just about all of my Christmas shopping on line this year. I knew I was going to make at least one trip in to the real world for stocking stuffers, wrapping paper and a few last minute gifts. Well tomorrow morning is going to be that “one trip”.  I am heading out about 9:00 am with a friend of mine and we’re not returning until every thing is crossed off of our lists. So I am checking and rechecking my list because if I don’t get it tomorrow, I wont be going back out in to the craziness for it. There will be no last minute running around this year if I can help it.

I thought this was kinda funny. I am not really a big Ashton fan. I like him so much more when he is in a movie or on That 70’s Show.
