Allison and I along with her Brownie troop are going to see High School Musical on Ice this evening. She is super excited and has been listening to the soundtrack almost daily. Myself, I am not really looking forward to it. Our weather is crappy, it’s been snowing all morning and the weatherman says we have a lot more of it to come during the day. On a good day, the drive to The Palace where we have to drive to is an hour away. Not only that but I just checked out the seating chart and our seats are in the back of the very highest section of the place and let me tell you, it’s a big place. I sure hope they have the big screens turned on so our girls can at least see some thing.
Its just not adding up to a good time to me. Maybe we’ll get there and the girls will just be happy to be there and sing along to the music. I hope!

It’s time to put new tabs on both my car and Gerry’s truck. When it comes to this, I am a total jinx ! I am not kidding. It started three years ago when I lost my tab some where between picking it up and the next morning when I went to stick it on. Then the next time I stuck the tab on the wrong side of my plate. This time last year Gerry was working a lot of hours so I thought I would help him out and I stuck his tab on my car. The night before last he came home and handed me my new tab and said here you go. I laughed and asked him does he not remember the last three year? That’s his job for now on. As simple as it is, he’ll have to go outside and stick on my car. I can handle a lot of so called “men’s work” around the house, I’ll take out the trash, I’ll even mow the lawn if it needs it but when it comes to those stupid tabs, I am leaving it up to him for now on. Because it was dark out, he laughed and said “I’ll do it tomorrow but you better put it in your purse just in case you get puled over in the morning”. Well, what the hell do you think happened? I looked in my purse this morning and the damn tab peeled off the paper and is stuck to my date calendar. I am so not looking forward to telling him tonight. Can’t say I didn’t worn him!  I am a tab jinx!

You Could Definitely Be a Vampire

Immortality, staying pretty forever, not having to get a job… you could definitely eat some flesh for these things.

It’s not that you’re a murderer by nature. In fact, you’re probably the furthest thing from it.

However, if you woke up a vampire, you’d certainly be able to adapt and enjoy your new lifestyle.

There might not be much better than living forever, even if it means giving up your soul.

We rented American Gangster last night. Denzel Washington and Russell Crowe both were fantastic as always, both are so talented. In fact I found everything about the movie to be very well made but it felt way too long and just a lot of the same old gangster stuff we have already seen so many times. Only in Harlem. This coming from me, a huge gangster film fan. I am surprised, I expected to love this movie but I didn’t. Maybe it was mood but I was bored out of my mind.

Yesterday we partied hearty at our house in celebration of my sister, her two sons and my husband who all have birthdays really close together. It was a good time. Lots of good food, family and lots of laughs.

I have a hot date tonight with my sister. A nice evening out for her birthday. Dinner and tickets to see James Blunt, who’s music she loves. So much that she played it in the labor room when my niece was born. It’s sure to be a good time.

I know my sister is a good date because years ago, before I started dating my husband I dated a guy on and off for about two years. I was so in love with him that I couldn’t see how bad he was for me. Through all the ups and downs, my sister was right there for me. Always being my best friend and listening. There was an evening planned near the end of our relationship dinner and tickets to see Natalie Merchant, whom I adore. It was going to be a beautiful, romantic night out. Well, a couple days before our big night, of course we were back on the outs and decided to call it quits. My heart was just broken to pieces. My sister being the amazing sister she is, fixed it by being my date that night. She took me out in style, even wore a tie to go with my little black dress. We were quite the couple. We had to laugh because when got there, our seats were between two lesbian couples, so we really fit right in… ha ha. I will never forget that she did that for me.
Even though we spend a lot of time together, I think that was the last time we went to a concert and I am so happy to be taking her tonight to see a singer that touches her heart like Natalie’s music touched mine.
But first I plan to talk her ear off over a nice sea food dinner and a couple of margaritas! That part of the hot date is a tradition for us.

Here we are back in the day, mid-90’s. Really, have you even seen a better pair?
