We hosted an end of summer party last night in our yard. We had just over 20 people show up. Everyone brought some thing so we had more then enough food and drinks. The weather was perfect to sit around the fire pit, warm with a slight chill in the air. We kept it going and talked and laughed for hours. It’s so much to have that many friends and neighbors together. The kids drank kiddie cocktails, ran wild and played us some music. Some of the men, finally after talking about it for months, decided to play a few rounds of poker. The yard looked so nice. We worked on it all afternoon, cleaning and setting up the chairs, fire pit and tiki torches. Everyone seemed to have a really good time. Even Roxy was good, well other then stealing a little food but she milked all the attention for all she could. It went so well I wish we could do it again next weekend.

Allison and I had a wonderful Mother Daughter Day today. We were out the door a little after 10:00am ran all of our errands and did a ton of back to school shopping. It was so much fun and we found some great deals on jeans and shoes for her. We fit in lunch at Big Boy’s and some playing around at the mall. Then we both had hair appointments this evening. It was the first time Allison had the works and not just a trim. She walked past me from being shampooed with a tight little towel on her head and a great big smile on her face. It was the sweetest thing. I can’t believe how grown up she is some times. It was the best day I have had in along time!

I was able to snap a couple of pictures of her new hair before she went to bed. She has been flipping it around and telling me how much she LOVES it.

So cute.

All I had to hear was that My Benicio won the Best Actor Award at this years Cannes Film Festival in France and it’s Benicio overload over here.

Hockeytown is home to the Stanley Cup - again !
Using a little Motown magic on the road, the Detroit Red Wings won the Stanley Cup for the fourth time in 11 seasons with a 3 - 2 victory over the Pittsburgh Penguins in Game 6 of the NHL finals.

It was wonderful ! I loved every minute and didn’t want it to end. I love it that they were able to stay so true to the series and characters for the film. It was just like an extended episode of where they left off. It was the perfect ending to each of their stories, in perfect SATC style. NOT that I wouldn’t show up again on opening night if they decided to make another one!

The three of us, my sister, daughter and I had a great time. I love it that we each loved the show as much as the other. It made it that much more fun.

Oh, and by the way. We were not the only freaks taking pictures! The place was filled with happy women, sisters, girlfriends, mothers and daughters, laughing and having a good time. Some too good of time, we saw a couple that could barely walk in their heals and we even saw one that couldn’t make it up the theater stairs to her seat. Too many cosmos maybe?  It was fun.

Am I sitting here at work counting down the minutes until my sister and I go to dinner tonight and to see Sex & The City: The Movie ?

Absofuckinglutely !

660 minutes until we’ll be sitting in the theater. I am beyond excited.

I am so proud of myself, I have been able to stay away from any spoilers and have only watched one trailer for the movie. I intend to enjoy every minute of this two hour and twenty eight minute film !  I hope because we bought tickets online for such a late showing that the theater is filled with real fans our age and older and not teens who will talk through it.

Two more hours and I am out of this office until Tuesday. Sixteen more hours and my husband and I will be hitting the road on our way up north until some time on Monday.

I just heard on the radio that if you are hoping of seeing the Sex & The City Movie on it’s premiere night, May 30th that you should go online and purchase your tickets now before they sell out.

Ha ha ha....

Yes, I laugh because we, my sister and I already did that on Sunday !
