I really don’t understand the whole Google ranking system. I am sure you, my readers have noticed that I have been trying to add a little to our income by posting paid ads here on my blog. I have been using PayPerPost, which I really like. But they go by your Alexa and Google rankings to determine which ads you can post about. The better your rankings, the better the pay.
Well, some how my Google ranking went from a 3 to a 2 over the last week. Which is really frustrating because I now have less opportunity to make money with PayPerPost.
So, if any one has any suggestions on how I can raise my Google rank I would greatly appreciate it.

From what I have gathered over the years, it seems to come down to incoming links. I wonder if commenting on other blogs would help. Just a thought. Let us know if you figure out a system. :D

You might also see if someone has banned you from joining their community.  I cant think of a reason why they would, but it’s something you can check.

Comment comment comment! Comment on a lot of blogs, get your name out there.

Start reading some high traffic blogs and comment frequently on them. Also, download the Alexa toolbar.  Do a google search on it to learn more about it. It is supposed to help.

It HAS helped my Alexa score a bit. Not enough yet to make any sort of large earth-shattering impact or anything lol… but my number HAS come down quit a bit!

The more people linking to you the better. If you see something on another blog that you identify with, post about it, use trackbacks if you have them, etc…

Heck, no one links to me hardly, and I am a Google PR5… so it can be done!

That is all I have! Best of luck!

Google is finicky. You may see it go back up again shortly. Or, like mine, disappear completely. I have NO idea why I don’t have a ranking all the sudden, when I DID have a 4. But I’ve since left PPP and the like, so I really don’t care anymore.
