Yeah, you read that title right!
I am so not an A.I. fan but I did DVR the season finale.  Then why did I DVR it?  I set my DVR as soon as I heard on the radio that Joe Perry was going to perform. You see Mr. Perry was very first rocker crush, when I say crush, I mean I loooooved him for years. Before I met my husband I thought Joe Perry was the sexiest, baddest guitar playing motherfucker in the world. Hands down, no other way to say it. The first time (of 6) that I saw Aerosmith play live I was lucky enough to have a seat pretty even with the stage. When the show started Joe Perry came out in his bad ass torn up jeans, with his shirt off and tied around his waist, cigarette hanging out of his mouth and just leaned over with all that sexy long hair and waled on his guitar all night. It was by far the sexiest thing I had ever seen as of then.

Then almost ten years later I met my husband, also a guitar player. A damn good one. I can remember telling him when he asked me what I wanted to hear him play, don’t even play me any Aerosmith because no body can play like Joe Perry, no body. What a bitch I was! The funny thing is when I think back to those early days of dating my husband, I know exactly when I fell in love with him. It was an evening that I was laying on his bed watching him stand in the corner of his room, cigarette hanging out of his mouth, hair down the middle of his back and playing his guitar. I can remember thinking damn this man is sexy. From that point on, Joe Perry has run a close second. I still loooove to see and hear him play. He reminds me of my youth and how lucky I am to have the sexiest, baddest guitar player as my husband.

I think Joe Perry & Kelly Clarkson sounded great together!

I thought the finale was pretty awesome. Even that Sanjaya was pretty good I thought.  Great post about your hubby/Joe Perry. I’m so happy for you. smile

He belonged with someone as talented as Kelly.  My husband had a fit that he would stoop to playing with Sanjaya but I keep telling him that Sanjaya, though horrible, is just a kid and a good kid at that.  I’m sure his own children liked Sanjaya.

I actually got to meet Joe Perry once. He and Steven Tyler actually came to our studios and did a radio show for a couple of hours before they played in concert later. Both of them were really nice guys. I also did a phone interview with Joe about a year ago.
