Tip #1- Do not for any reason throw away your child’s old lunch box with out having a new one in your hand!
Tip#2- If you don’t follow tip #1, then you better make damn sure you do not forget to purchase the new lunchbox.

And let me just tell you, if you think running a mile across a full Wal-Mart parking lot and fighting the other dead beat moms in that area of the store is going to save you on your lunch break, one day before school starts, you are sadly mistaken!

Just a couple of tips from me (a.k.a. the dead beat mom that forgot her daughter needs a lunchbox) to you.

** Evening update: One very cute Garfield lunchbox bought on Ebay. Everyone is happy.

That reminds me of John Mayer’s lyrics in his song, 83. “whatever happened to my lunchbox. when came the day that it got thrown away and don’t you think I should have had some say in that decision.”

Hope you find one soon! smile

oh no!

Here’s another, and yet oddly related tip:
If you actually accomplish fighting off the other moms for a lunchbox that your kid will most definitely not be impressed with you also have to make sure to have actual lunchbox supplies (i.e. food kids will actually eat) for the first day of school.  If you don’t do this you will be standing at the grocery store rubbing the sleep from your eyes in the rain.

Hypothetically, of course wink

ah, back to school always an adventure.

Good tip!  Can you believe what our lunchboxes sale for on eBay?  I wish I had kept mine.  My mother did save my brothers Evil Knievel which he now owns....Lil sis had the smurfs!

I think everybody makes this mistake… once.

Last year my wife wanted to “wait for a sale” and then not only was there the crowds, by the time school actually starts, there is practically nothing left in stock (because the sales had already passed… like sometime in late july or very early august).

We got her lunch box this year… on JULY 5th.  The day after all the “4th of July” and summer stuff got put away and the Back to School supplies started filling the shelves.
