Daily BS

Friday night’s Harvest Fest at Allison’s school was a big hit again this year. We sold a ton of pizza and cupcakes! I think it was some where around 9:30pm when we finally got home from helping with the clean up. My feet were so tired. I signed up for a one hour shift and ended up working four hours. Not that I minded, it was a lot of fun, just tiring at the end of the night. Two of the other moms that were suppose to help behind the pizza table walked in, looked around and said “well, I see you have enough help” and pretty much ran away and disappeared in to the party with their kids. I just don’t get that. Why sign up to help out at your kids school and not follow through. But it all worked out, I guess.

Last evening Bethany and I went to her aunts baby shower/ cocktail party. It was a lot of fun. I got to visit and catch up with a lot of women in her family that I haven’t seen in years. It was a good size group and a lot of laughing. I bet the ladies downed a good couple cases of beer, a few bottles of wine and there was even a large bowl on ice filled with jello shots. My kind of baby shower!  Too bad I had to miss out, I had to drive Bethany and Rebecca home so there was no drinking this time for me. Not the same could be said for my daughter.

Today we have plans to go to my sister’s this afternoon. Our husbands have doors to hang in their house and we have Webkinz to shop for with the kids. I am looking forward to it. It’s always a good time when we are together.

Nice to see that baby showers are not the same old dull pink and blue parties!  I’ve never had a cocktail at one!  Have fun at your sisters....

I have seen so many people at volunteer events that say “I can’t stay too long.” or “I should’ve worn more comfortable shoes, you guys look like you are okay without me.”...why even sign up?  I really did have a lady that was supposed to RELEIVE me from my 3 hour shift actually tell me she had planned on working but was afraid her dog would get too hot in the car???  Why did she take it to the event anyway?  Then she said “I see you have it under control” When I stated I had plans and would have to close up she just acted like she couldn’t hear me.  People are worthless sometimes.  I was fuming.  At the next meeting she went on and on about how she enjoyed the event and how well it went.  I don’t think she knew me well enough to know that I would say “Maybe next time you sign up for something you should follow through and not bring your dog for an excuse.” I think she thought she’d shine without doing anything.  I wanted to go across that table!
